Tenbury firefighters celebrate community and charity achievements

Tenbury firefighter Oliver Prouse has been recognized by the Fire Fighters Charity as Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s individual supporter/fundraiser of the year.

Oliver organized and ran the Tenbury Santa Run in December 2019, donating £1,000 of the event fundraising to the charity.

Tenbury Fire Station was named as runner-up in the HWFRS station/department fundraiser of the year section for the charity after crew took part in the race by running in fire kit and breathing apparatus to raise £771.

The awards were presented by Chief Fire Officer Nathan Travis who also acknowledged the special contribution made to the Service by two other Tenbury firefighters for their dedicated service for more than 20 years.

Watch Commander Ian Bowkett and Crew Commander Jonathan Pearson were handed Long Service and Good Conduct medals in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Service and to their community.

At the ceremony, CFO Travis commented: “During these unprecedented times, it is great to recognise the work that Tenbury firefighters have done to support both for their community and the Fire Fighters Charity.”
