Fat Fryer Fire
Three fire crews from Hereford, one from Fownhope, one from Ewyas Harold and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Hereford attended along with the Command Support Unit from Malvern.
Crews found a fire in a commercial deep fat fryer in the kitchen of the premises, with flames spreading upwards through the ventilation shaft. The blaze was brought under control with two firefighters in breathing apparatus and one hose reel used.
Crew Commander Andrew Phillips from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Thankfully there was no one was hurt during the incident but there was damage to the extraction unit in the kitchen and to a wooden beam on the third floor where flames had travelled up through the ventilation shaft."
He confirmed that the fire was under control by 11pm and that a re-inspection had since been carried out to ensure there were no further outbreaks.
Fire crews had been called to the premises earlier the same day to an unrelated incident involving an electrical fire in the basement.
