Partnership Supports Arson Reduction

in News

Reducing arson is always high on Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s priority list (HWFRS) and it works closely with the police, schools and other local agencies across the Wyre Forest area to help reduce the number of fires being started deliberately.

Watch Commander Chris Wainwright, Arson Reduction Officer with HWFRS, said: “The impact of arson can be far-reaching, both in terms of the physical damage it can cause and the emotional stress that those affected can experience.

“The financial support offered by the Wyre Forest Community Safety Partnership is much appreciated and will help fund some of our arson reduction projects within the immediate area.”

Helen Dyke, Chair of the Wyre Forest Community Safety Partnership, said: “Protecting vulnerable people in the Wyre Forest district is one of our top priorities and we are very pleased to be able to support the Fire Service with this important initiative.”
