Fire crews save farm from catastrophic damage

in News

Crews from Kingsland, Kington and Eardisley were mobilised and arrived at the scene to find a farm building measuring 20metres x 30metres with straw bales on fire. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used the water carrier from Leominster and shuttled water from a hydrant in Eardisland village before establishing additional water supplies from a local river to bring the fire under control.

Station Commander Steve Jordan said: "The prompt actions of the first crews to arrive at the incident limited the spread of fire to just one bay – keeping cattle, animal feedstuffs and bales safe."
