Redditch Bonfire Party

in News

The event, which attracts many hundreds of local people each year, will open at 6pm, with the bonfire being lit at 7.30pm and the firework display starting a short while later.

As in previous years, there will be a range of children’s activities and roundabout rides, as well as a selection of hot food and refreshments available. Redditch Young Firefighters will be helping on the night and the Red Cross will also be on hand for any first aid requirements during the evening.

Entry will cost £3.50 per adult and £2 per child.

Following last year’s event, the Fire Service made donations to local charities, including the Red Cross and the Redditch branch of the Young Firefighters Association.

Watch Manager Bob Morris, based at Redditch Fire Station, said: “Local people come back to this event year after year to enjoy the firework display and the traditional bonfire as well. Organised events are always the safest option for Bonfire Night and we hope that we will continue to attract a good crowd at this year’s bonfire party.”

He reminded anyone planning to drive to the Redditch Fire Station event to park safely and considerately in nearby roads, and to note that there will not be any parking available at the fire station itself.

Redditch Fire Station is also planning a recruitment drive to attract extra on-call firefighters to work out of Redditch and will be holding an awareness session at the Birmingham Road station on Tuesday 20 November at 6.30pm. Anyone interested in finding out more can book a place at the awareness evening by calling HWFRS’s HR Department on 01905 368 343 or the 24-hour answerphone line on 01905 368 378.
