Two climbers rescued during joint training exercise

A joint training exercise in the Malvern Hills turned into a real life incident this morning (Tuesday 18 August) as fire and ambulance crews came across two climbers that had fallen approximately 15 metres.

Firefighters rescue a cow from deep mud

On Sunday 3 August at 16:50, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) was called to rescue a cow who was stuck in deep mud in a field in Spetchley. A specialist animal rescue unit from Pershore and a crew from Worcester attended the incident and on arrival they were faced with an elderly cow stuck in approximately one metre of mud.

HWFRS give their best ever performance and finish second place in the United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) National Challenge

Last week, two teams from HWFRS were among fire services from across the entire country competing in the UKRO National Challenge 2015. The HWFRS team from Ross-on-Wye, who competed in the extrication challenge, gave their best performance to date and finished in second place nationally. They will now go forward to represent the UK in Brazil next April at the World Extrication Championships.
