Bogus caller warning

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) have received calls from concerned local businesses from across Herefordshire who have been cold called by phone requesting payment for advertising to support HWFRS. These calls are not genuine and payments should not be made.

Upton upon Severn Fire Station on Minge Lane will be opening its doors to the public this Saturday (22 July) from 12noon- 4pm for the first time in ten years for its open day. The event is free for all to attend and promises to be entertaining for all of the family.

Community safety event success

Throughout the sunny afternoon of Wednesday 12 July residents of Kidderminster's 3 high rise towers on Hurcott Road, that encompasses over 120 flats, were encouraged to have a free ice cream and join in with Wyre Forest Community Housing's (WFCH) Community Safety Event. The event was also supported by their various partner agencies including Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS).

Local firefighters come out as champions in Luxembourg Rescue Challenge

Recently two talented teams from Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) showcased their life-saving skills for the first time in the Luxembourg National Rescue Challenge. They competed against teams from France, Belgium, Germany and Ireland amongst others and came out as overall winners in both the international trauma and international extrication categories.

Five fires per day caused by white goods in England

Last year, 1,873 fires were caused by domestic electrical white goods such as dishwashers and fridge freezers in England, the equivalent of over five fires per day.

Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are urging motorists to avoid deadly distractions at the wheel, through a national targeted mobile phone enforcement and education campaign which is running this week (10th – 16th July) to crack down on people who continue to flout the law.

HWFRS to support with high rise community safety event in Kidderminster

On Wednesday 12 July from 2pm – 5:30pm, a community safety event will be taking place at Hurcott Flats in Kidderminster. Wyre Forest Community Housing (WFCH) is hosting the event supported by their Housing Management Services, Corporate Services, Vestia, Oakleaf and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS).
