Tell us more about your fire service career

I joined the fire service in February 2019 as the Head of HR & Development, progressing to the role of Assistant Director: Prevention and then onto Assistant Chief Officer in March 2023. Prior to working in Fire, I  started my career working for Marks and Spencer on their graduate scheme, ultimately working as the HR Manager for various stores across the Country. Following that, I spent 15 years in local government working in a variety of professional HR related roles at both a strategic and operational level working directly with the senior leadership team. I am proud to be a Chartered Fellow member of the CIPD and hold qualifications in coaching and mentoring.

What makes HWFRS a great place to work?

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is a really great place to work because it values its people and is keen to invest and develop employees to ensure we deliver the best possible service to our local communities. I have never met a more enthusiastic workforce, who are all focused on doing their absolute very best to contribute in whatever role they perform to ultimately serving their community and saving lives.
