A life-saving defibrillator has been installed at Evesham Fire Station, improving access to vital emergency equipment for the local community.
The automated external defibrillator (AED) is located on the front of the station in a locked but highly visible cabinet, making it easy to find in an emergency. It has been funded through a joint investment by Evesham Town Council and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS), reflecting a shared commitment to keeping residents safe.
Defibrillators can play a crucial role when someone suffers a cardiac arrest. With every minute that passes, a person’s chance of survival falls significantly, so quick access to equipment like this can make a real difference.
The new device will be available to the public at all times. In the event of a cardiac arrest, members of the public may be directed by ambulance services to retrieve the AED and use it before emergency crews arrive.
HWFRS has committed to maintaining the defibrillator to ensure it remains ready for use whenever it is needed.
Community access defibrillators like the one installed in Evesham have been shown to improve survival rates and strengthen local emergency response, giving people the tools they need to act quickly and confidently in critical situations.
