Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014
Notice is hereby given that pursuant to Section 24 and Schedule 7 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014, Alex Walling of Bishop Fleming, the local auditor of the accounts for Hereford and Worcester Fire Authority has made written recommendations to the Authority.
The Authority’s auditor made formal recommendations to the Authority on 19th February 2025 under Section 24 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (the Act). A copy of these recommendation are attached.
The Auditor’s recommendations were considered at a meeting of Hereford & Worcester Fire Authority on 5th March 2025 in accordance with Schedule 7 paragraph 5 of the Act, following which, it was resolved at the meeting that the Authority:
(i) Notes and accepts the Auditor’s recommendations in full;
(ii) Notes that Officers will be able to respond to those recommendations without further action from the Authority and that additional short-term resources will be brought in to increase capacity, if available;
(iii) Delegates it to the Treasurer to agree a deadline for production of the 2023/24 accounts with the Auditor; and
(iv) Confirms that the current accounting software remains fit for purpose
