Hereford and Worcester Fire & Rescue Authority issued a Prohibition Notice to the Building Agents who are responsible for Barbourne Works, Northwick Avenue, Worcester WR3 7AT on Wednesday 4 June 2025.
The Prohibition Notice was served following a technical fire safety visit which identified a number of serious fire safety concerns. Some of these concerns could affect residents’ ability to escape from the building in the event of fire.
As a result, 60 residents from 46 flats have been temporarily relocated to alternative accommodation and are being supported by partner agencies. A helpline has been set up by the Building Agent for those residents that have been affected.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service continues to support the residents and the Building Agents in their efforts to resolve the fire safety concerns at Barbourne Works.
Our priority is to ensure residents are able to live safely within their homes and we are working extremely hard with all parties involved to ensure that this can happen as soon as possible.
