Josh is a graduate, having completed a Degree in Sports Coaching. He is also a qualified teacher and worked with children in special needs education for over ten years.

His family have always been involved in the fire service, working at Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station On-Call, so being a firefighter is something he had always wanted to do from a young age. Alongside his teaching, Josh worked as an On-Call firefighter and enjoyed the work so much that he decided to apply for a Wholetime firefighter role. Josh has gain ed an Health and Safety (IOSH) qualification, a level 3 IFE in Incident Command, and a level 3 IFE in Fire Safety.
Josh has played rugby since he was little, and has progressed to coaching the Worcester Warriers ladies team, as well as men’s senior teams. Working as a team, leadership, mentoring and coaching has therefore developed very naturally for Josh.
“Being a graduate has helped me in my work as a firefighter and working in education has ensured that I am comfortable in my leadership role as Crew Commander. Gaining additional qualifications has come naturally to me as I feel at home in that environment. Each day is new and exciting, you never know what you will be called to and how you can help your community. I see Wholetime as a long term career and look forward to what the future brings, as I know I can progress in the Service and move into senior management if I want to.”
