FOI Request.
Dear Information Governance Team,
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I request the following recorded information relating to officer response vehicle lifecycle policy and replacement planning.
1. The approved lifecycle policy (years and/or mileage) for officer response vehicles that was in force in:
• 2014
• 2018
• 2022
2. The planned replacement year (as recorded at the time) for:
• The 2014 Land Rover officer vehicle fleet
• The 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport fleet
• The 2018 Volvo XC60 fleet
3. Confirmation of whether any of the above fleets were replaced earlier than originally planned, and if so, the revised replacement year recorded prior to replacement.
This request relates to recorded lifecycle policy and planned replacement scheduling only. It does not require analysis, opinion, or the creation of new information.
If any of the requested information is not held, please confirm this explicitly.

Good Afternoon,
We thank you for your request for information, which has been received by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (the Service) and considered under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.
The Service can confirm that the information that you have requested is partially held and is as below.
1. The approved lifecycle policy (years and/or mileage) for officer response vehicles that was in force in:
• 2014 – Fleet strategy 2007-2015 was approved in February 2008. A copy of the Fleet Strategy 2007-2015 and associated documents are not held.
• 2018 – Aspirational fleet replacement age; (subject to full assessment): Responding officers’ cars – 4 years. See Fleet Strategy 2016 (attached) and the Fleet Procurement Strategy 2017-18 at this link.
• 2022 – Aspirational fleet replacement age of 4 years. See page 7 – Fleet Strategy 2021 (Attached)
2. The planned replacement year (as recorded at the time) for:
• The 2014 Land Rover officer vehicle fleet – Information not held.
• The 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport fleet – The Fleet Strategy 2016 confirms officers’ cars to be purchased within 2017-18 and 2018-19. See paragraph 25 and table.
• The 2018 Volvo XC60 fleet – The Fleet Strategy 2021 confirms officers’ cars to be purchased within 2022-23 and 2023-24. See table at page 14.
3. Confirmation of whether any of the above fleets were replaced earlier than originally planned, and if so, the revised replacement year recorded prior to replacement.
Orders were placed in the detailed stages outlined in the enclosed strategy papers.
