Request
Morning
With the current flooding again in Tenbury Wells, as the chair of Tenbury Area Partnership, I am contacting HWFS to introduce TAP and my 20 Tenbury Wells & surrounding parish members. TAP is an organisation to which representatives of local groups belong. Matters discussed include planning, flood defences, highways and waste management, in fact anything relating to Tenbury and district with a view to improving the town for residents and visitors. Among matters recently discussed by TAP have been the Environment Agency Tenbury flood defences including and encouraging the Town Council to produce a Neighbourhood Plan.
One of our current ongoing Flood protection projects with Worcestershire County Council, MHDC, Tenbury Chamber of Trade and Tenbury Flood Action Group (all of whom are TAP members) is the implementation of Flood signage on the roads into Tenbury Wells at Newham Bridge, Clows Top and Abberley to try to reduce the number of vehicles driving & being stranded in flooded areas. I know HWFR have recovered many vehicles at Woodston, Lindridge, as our flooding events continue to grow.
I hope you may be able to share the approx. annual HWFR cost of such vehicle recovery so we can include this information in our cost benefit analysis.
Please accept my thanks to all your colleagues who help in our local area.
