With more than 700 operational staff, the Service very much depends on its team of non-uniformed staff who provide specialist administrative, technical and professional support services.
Non-uniformed staff work in areas including finance, community safety, training, personnel, information technology and workshops.
Finding out about vacancies
When vacancies arise, these are advertised in the local press. We also use Job Centres and specialist publications as necessary. In addition, all vacancies are advertised via the Worcestershire County Council information points. Each advertisement will tell you how to apply and where to obtain further information about the post. You can also check the WM Jobs website.
The selection process will include completion of an application form, any job-related selection tests and an interview. Applicants will be asked to provide details of at least two referees, who will be contacted prior to appointment. All applicants will also be asked to complete a medical questionnaire prior to appointment.
All appointments are made subject to a 6-month probationary period.
All staff have a minimum of 20 days annual leave, plus the normal bank/public holidays.
Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme is open to employees.
