Furthermore, I am responsible for the Service’s response to the learning from national incidents including Grenfell Tower and Manchester Arena.
Tell us more about your fire service career
I started my career in the fire service in 1999 with Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and I have had the pleasure of working at several stations including Kidderminster, Droitwich, Evesham, Hereford and Bromsgrove. I have also carried out departmental and district roles in Operational Policy, On-call Support, Performance and Information, Projects, North District and Protection, which provided a great opportunity to work closely with On-call and Support staff from across the Service. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every role I have undertaken and I have always been hugely impressed with the dedication, commitment and talent of colleagues in all areas of our Service.
What makes HWFRS a great place to work?
I enjoy working for a Service that makes a real difference to our communities. Working for an organisation that is people focused is also really important to me, where everyone’s contribution is valued equally to ensure we deliver the best service we can. I appreciate the effective personal and professional relationships you can build in a smaller FRS and regard this as a huge strength in moving our organisation forward and supporting our staff.
