Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service wish to thank Kidderminster people for their support by staying away from the incident in Park Street.
“We would also like to thank everyone for adhering to safety messages such as keeping doors and windows closed, looking after their neighbours, friends and family affected by the incident and for their patience in dealing with road and footpath closures,” said Group Commander George Marshall.
“This was a massive help to the Fire Service and all other agencies involved and enabled us to deal with the incident and return the local area to normality in record time..
“We were also very grateful to local residents and businesses for messages of support and kind donations of drinking water and food which were welcomed by some very thirsty and tired firefighters.
“While this is something that we do not expect we were humbled by these acts of kindness and generosity which makes us even more proud of the communities we serve.”
