Request
Good morning,
I am doing research for a project and was wondering if you had any statistics on the number of building/house fires that are caused by electric fans in the UK.
Things like floor standing and deskfans that are commonly used during the summer
Kind regards

Three keywords were used when searching for the incidents, and these were: fan, tower fan and desk fan. The search returned only incidents were the extractor fans caught fire. This means that the Service did not attend any fire incidents which were caused by desk and floor fans during a summer period or any other month.
The incident report is not intended to be a line by line account of the incident but a report collated for statistical purposes produced for the Home Office detailing our attendance and initial impressions by the officer in charge. Details of the Incident Commander’s initial impressions are selected from a limited range of options available, which may or may not cover the exact circumstances of each case. This information is included within the report but it should be noted that the information is not based on a detailed investigation and should not be relied upon as evidence.
